A Mother's Love Letter
by Lucy Watkins
Dearly Beloved,
O, how I miss you. The years trudge by so slowly without you in my life.
I have counted the days since last we shared a night together. A passing glance
as we cross each other's path is more than I can bear. Each time you are
near, I only want to take you in my arms and make you mine. Certainly, I
will lose my mind if I don't feel you inside me again soon.
Without you there is not tomorrow. There is only today and today is full
of the enduring pain of your absence, my love.
I can no longer concentrate on the mundane tasks of every day life. I fear
my husband is beginning to suspect something. I don't care. I tell
you!! I just don't care if he knows or not, for everything in this life is
a blur without you, dear one.
It is you that I long for. You fill me with desire. My daydreams are
full of your sweet, gentle touch. How my heart aches for you. When
shall we meet again? Please, I beg you…come back to me.
You give me a reason to live. I know we will be together again, someday.
We must. I can't go on without you. You are my relief from a hard
day. You are my comfort at night. You are all that I want.
Dear sweet sleep, I love you. Please come back to
me."
