Mermaid

The siren

in my heart

lives on,

dark tresses

flowing round

supple curves,

singing songs

melancholy

that tinkle on

and mesh

with the sound

of the waves

soothing

my soul.

Her voice

Is getting

father and farther

away, and only

occasionally,

momentarily,

can I distinguish

the sweet tune

of her

pleading

from the

roar of my life.
