| Time for the Goddess Momma... When the "Goddess in the Groove" first came into my life, I wanted
it to be site for women, ALL women. I wanted to stay away from being a "mommy"
site, as there are already so many quality sites of this nature to choose from on the
Internet.
BUT, I am a mother tiger of one beautiful daughter, and presently
carrying my second little miracle child. I cannot divide my passion as a women from that
of a momma, because both flow in my veins. Many of the issues close to my heart as a women
have become even more important to me now that I am raising a daughter. A new, innocent,
precious little Goddess.
I hope you enjoy this section, and look forward to your thoughts.

Sleeping Peacefully
While visiting with an old friend today that I worked with during my
pregnancy, my four year old mentioned that she sleeps in my bed. My friend's reaction was
"I told you mom when you were a baby not to let you sleep in her bed...". She
did, and so did many others, but it was not even a question for me where my baby would
sleep. Having a Family bed is a very intense and personal choice, here are some
experiences from real life. Enjoy! |

Dealing with DEATH.
During these last tragic weeks after the attack of September 11th,
most U.S. children have been confronted with death. For many, this was the first time, or
it was the first time the parent had to explain. My father passed away, I did alot of
explaining to my daughter, and was in awe of her understanding of the recent tragedies of
the "Attack on America". Though there has been a flood of information on how to
explain this "war" to our children, I wanted to share this with you, in the hope
that it will help. From one Momma to another. |
We will miss you, Papa... by

When our parents die, we deal with a type of pain and loss undescribed. I dealt with the
sadness by writing down my thoughts, and still cry today..

Remember the day Opa died?
A Toddler dealing with Death. by H. Boehnke-Sharp
Part 2 to "We will miss you, Papa". I was dealing with death, but at the same
time had to explain to my 3 year old WHY Opa would never be back. This is how she dealt
with it, and my thoughts of growing old.

| On a lighter note.... This story was sent to me via email, and made me laugh!
Regretfully, it came without the name of author, and tracking did not work. SO, if this
looks familiar, or you know the author, please pass it on so we can give credit where it

This is a homage to all Stay at Home or Work at
Home women....Read on, relate, and send it to the ones who ask "So what did you do
today?"
One afternoon a man came home from work to find
total mayhem in his house. His three
children were outside, still in their pajamas, playing in the mud, with empty food boxes
and wrappers strewn all around the front yard. The
door of his wife's car was open, as was the front door to the house.
Proceeding into the entry, he found an even bigger
mess. A lamp had been knocked over, and the throw rug was wadded against one wall. In the
front room the TV was loudly blaring a cartoon channel, and the family room was strewn
with toys and various items of clothing. In the kitchen, dishes filled the sink, breakfast
food was spilled on the counter, dog food was spilled on the floor, a broken glass lay
under the table, and a small pile of sand was spread by the back door.
He quickly headed up the stairs, stepping over toys
and more piles of clothes, looking for his wife. He
was worried she may be ill, or that something serious had happened.
He found her lounging in the bedroom, still curled
in the bed in her pajamas, reading a novel. She looked up at him, smiled, and asked how
his day went. He looked at her bewildered and asked,"What happened here today?"
She again smiled and answered, "You know every day when you come home from work and
ask me what in the world did I do today?" "Yes" was his incredulous reply.
She answered, "Well, today I didn't do
it."
